Goose Island Brewhouse Toronto's 4th Anniversary special release bottle!
Heavy Lifting was brewed exclusively with Maris Otter Pale Malt and had a boil time of 4 hours that resulted in the wort caramelizing into to a deep mahogany colour. After fermentation, the young beer was transferred into Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels for 1 year of maturation. The result? A big, full bodied beer with rich, malty flavours and intense bourbon character, accompanied by notes of oak, molasses, walnut, apricot, pecan, cocoa, maple syrup, and… did we mention bourbon?
